I have a Hunter and am searching for some parts for it. Can anyone give me any leads as to where I might go? I am searching for replacement wheels for the rollers for the aft jib lines port and starbord and also a picture of the interior over the chart table. I would like to make mine look original again. any help out there?

Gary: I think that most of the stuff that Hunter was using during this vintage was Ronstan(sp?). Cannot help you with the interior.

Turning Blocks

The turning blocks on my 85 H34 are made by Lewmar. I went to the local marine store and ordered replacement sheaves. Remove the four screws that hold the block to the coaming. Use a drill or hand held grinder to remove the rivited pin from the back side of the block and remove. Put the new sheave in and put a 5/16" clevis pin in from the back side. Use one that just protrudes through the block. Re-bed the block on the coaming. The pin can't fall out because you put it in from the back. Good as new and you can fix it easier next time. Any sheave of the right thickness will do. You might have to buy a bushing from someone like Motion Industries that has the right inner and outer diameters. Check the web site. I think there is a section that has the original brochures for the H34. You might see a picture of the nav station there. Otherwise, I'll see if I have one that I can scan and e-mail to you.

like the 83 H31?

I too am replacing the (cheek block?)sheaves on my `83 H31. They should be very close to the H34, if not identical. I think mine are original, and are metric in dimensions. They are very very close to 2.5 inches in diameter, and .75 inches high. This is an unusual size according to my local West Marine store. Most .75" high sheaves are 3" in diameter or larger. I will probably buy a .75 inch high by 3 inch dia sheave and pay a local machine store to turn them down. They are made of delrin, and could probably be custom fabricated at your local machine shop if needed.
