I do not know if the Hunter 25.5 came with a bilge pump. But the 25.5 does have a great sump to install one in ... right at the top of the keel. The only issue is where to route the discharge. The previous owner of my 25.5 routed it to a thru-hull on the port side ... problem is he did not install the thru-hull high enough. Thus, when the boat heels over on a starboard tack water can siphon into the bilge. This is the only time I ever have water in the bilge.
In my opinion there are only two good solutions:
1. Run the discharge out the transom ... which means a rather long discharge line.
2. Install a high loop with vacuum breaker ... which is also problematic because of the placement of the bench seat to starboard and the table to port.
I sail on a lake ... so I live with the siphon problem.
Here’s a link to the photos of my bilge pump installation.
