What I have read is that 1985 was the only year Hunter produced the "wing and a swing". I think people were breaking them off and such so they went to just a wing. I first of all want to know any secrets/tips on replcing the lines for the swing. Second, what are the advantages/disadvantages and boat speed/pointing differences. I know when I lower my board I can point higher, and decrease alot of weather helm. Has anyone ever got rid of it? What is the solution if you dont want to replace the whole keel. There is a dramatic difference in the shape of the 2. I will take some pix today of mine and my friends and post today. I also have a good solution for break away rope that should help keep it from breaking off(this could also be used for the rudder). I will post some pix of that also. Thanks David

'85 wing 'an swing

My swing keel stays up most all of the time, so I'm thinking of taking mine off and going with just the wing. Mine (1985 also) is shaped just like the 1986 wing keel, so shouldn't present any problems. I'll be interested in seeing pictures of yours when you are done with it.
