1984 O28 starting issues

Quick post, after removing trailer plug and still having issues, I replaced 38yr old starter with a brand new one and it now starts like a new boat.

Did you try cleaning the connections at the starter first or just go straight to a new starter?

What motor do you have?

I have the 5411- 630hrs and yes cleaned everything first. Only pia was removing alt first to gain access.
