1984 Hunter Wheel pedestal replacement

The base of the wheel pedestal on my 1984 Hunter 27 is eroding. Large pieces have come off, major cracks are showing and one of these days the whole steering column will fall over.Any suggestions where to acquire a replacement? There must be a graveyard for 1984 Hunter 27's somewhere?Would appreciate some leads to used or new wheel pedestals.Hans.

Hunter Graveyard

Please let me know if you find a graveyard for old Hunters - I need a new plexiglass hatch for the deck of my 1976, 27'. Any ideas??? Good luck to you - hope you find it.

Salvagers in FL

Either thru marine insurance companies (they settle for title on wrecked boats and sell 'em) or FL salvagers.I've seen earlier posts along similar requests. While I can't recall the exact name of the outfit you can do a search of the archives for "salvage" or salvagers and you should come up with a few names.Jim McCue

Hatches for Hunter 27

I replaced both hatches last year. Got them from BOMAR. Not to expensive either. Paid about $500 for the two.Now, for my pedestal......... any ideas?

I can't help with the pedestal, but

I was curious about the hatch from BOMAR. I was told that they no longer had any hatch to fit my 81 H-27. Tell me more, please.......

Hatch Replacement

Assuming we are talking about the forward hatch, which is tapered.Yes they do have a replacement.Reason why they do not identify it is: It is an aluminum hatch which is one half of an inch larger. I had to enlarge the opening, which then exposes some of the lamination. Using epoxy filler, we prepared the opening and dropped in our new hatch.After one seeason: No leaks whatsoever.I do have the part number somewhere. If you really get stuck, let me know and I will dig it up.Good luck.Hans.
