Hunter 31 Panama City
After reading several posts in the Hunter Forums, I am ready to post a few questions of my own as pre-purchase inquiries. I am looking at a very well equipped Hunter 31 with a few drawbacks a one concern. Drawback #1 - Berths: The V-Berth is too small for be, much less 2 adults. The aft berth has some sort of tubing (2"-3") running from the deck through the mattress. When last on the boat I failed to investigate this further. Can anyone tell me what thus is? Can I be re-routed? Also the auto pilot "slips" above 4 knots??? Is this a sign that this is underpowered? Is there a possibility fo replacing a portion of this system or will the entire autopilot need replacement? One other issue noted is water in the pan under the engine? The CO says this is for the "wet seal" of the shaft that drips". Is ths the norm?

In look forward to responses here. My past research in these forums has increased my knowledge greatly. Thanks in advance.

Aft Cabin pipe

That boat is similar to the 34 in that the rudder post comes through the aft cabin at the aft end.. Ya pretty well stuck with that location.. The picture shows it on the 34.. back there against the aft bulkhead, partly hidden by the rolled up dink. The top hose is the cockpit drain.. Other picture shows the rudder post with the cover removed.
Autopilot: sounds like a loose or worn belt.. What type/brand/model?? Pictures?

Thanks for such a quick reply Claude, puctures and all. Your response was very helpful. I need to look at this further as I want to make sure there are not any leakage issues. The only thing I know about the autopilot is that it is Raymarine and likely a ST series. I don't have any pictures at the moment.

Thanks again for responding.
