1984 Hunter 27: Original Boom Queston (s)

I purchased my 1984 Hunter 27 a couple years ago; as I continue to "refresh" her, I've a couple of questions:

1) Should there be a spacer in place where the boom attaches to the mast? (see attached picture)

2) What is the purpose of the two extra "holes" on my have boom? (see attached picture)

Any insight provided will be appreciated; thank you.

As Dave said, get a think nylon or Delvin “washer” to put between the bracket and boom fitting.

As far as the extra holes in the boom, no way to tell. Additional bails, cleats, blocks…?

Hi Greg; I appreciate your advice; thank you. I'm hoping someone out there has a Hunter 27 and might be able to provide what came as OEM.

1. The boom attachment is nothing like our '77 H27. Either a Hunter change, or a P.O. Here is a picture of our attachment hardware.

2. Boom holes: Some change of the mainsheet blocks on the boom? Reducing from 4 to 2 points? Moving 2 points forward?

I appreciate your reply; thank you.

Might you be able to get a close-up picture of where/how the boom attaches to the mast/goose-neck? I'm wondering what the spacer might have looked like (assuming there was one). The first picture in my post shows a considerable space between the goose-neck and boom fitting.
