I have a 1984 Hunter 31, which I love. However, the deck never drains, and I was wondering if any of you vintage Hunter owners have a solution for this.
I am not sure what they are called, but there are two traveller rails, down port and starboard side on the deck, where a block for the jibsheet is situated, and can be moved up or down. The rails are in a groove about four inches wide, and about 3/4 inch deep, which fills with water. There is a shallow drain at the aft end, but it is about 3/8" higher than the trough, so drainage never occurs.
Can this drain be carefully Dremelled out and deeper, to let the water drain? Anby other good ideas for this?
