1983 Hunter Check list > generational issues-what to check

I have a 1983 Hunter that I have just purchased over winter and have done some research to find that there are things to look at.

The swing keel, there is an issue with the pivot bolt! Yes? INFO

The Transom and chain plate, issue with rot?

Is there foam under the front v-berth and in the back somewhere to check?

Basically you guys that know everything, or have heard of details of broken and issues with these boat getting corners cut when mfg'd in the early 80's

Give me something so I can make a check list

What are the 3 round holders that are on the swing keel housing/dinette table

There isn't a single person that has input on this boat or what can be done for it?

Even what the "cup holder" type things are really for

The swing keel, there is an issue with the pivot bolt! Yes/can be, Ive replaced my SS pivot pin and nylon bushing (and entire swing keel) since start of post salvage work 5 years ago.

The Transom and chain plate, issue with rot? Transom, haven't seen any, and chain plate, yes ... one of my next projects (reseat in butyl rubber vs 3M 5200 and check for other topside leaks as possible source(s) of leakage)

Is there foam under the front v-berth and in the back somewhere to check?
Yes under / around v-berth (can't get to it), and right behind the 40 gal PW tank...you CAN put eyes on this one ... take a dive into the stbd quarterberth for a peek to centerline fwd of the aft bilge fiberglass bulkhead.

...one more thing, my 81 Hunter 22 is a salvage boat ... my check lists have been going on and on for a number of years now. They included the "to trailer" list, the "to sail" list, the "to sail overnight" list, and the "Block Island" list. And don't forget about the oh so important "Improvements" list.

And I've been working on them with time and money, as available. Most of my sailing on this boat has be single-handed in Long Island Sound for the past 4 years.
