I believe my H34 has the original traveler from Schaefer. It has a block on each side that is an integral part of the system. Each block has two plastic wheels (one on top of the other). One wheel on each side is badly chiped so that the line passing thru it cannot be pulled smoothly. Can someone tell me where I might be able to find replacements? Thanks.

Mine cracked last summer on my 83 H34, I found them at a place in Rhode Island on the Internet, search the internet and I will search my records to find the name. Very easy to replace.

Schaeffer Recall
2 or 3 years ago Schaeffer had a recall on the mainsheet block (which slides on the traveller). When you contact Schaeffer, ask them about this. I remember reading it in Sail magazine and I sent mine in for an upgrade. They promptly returned it to me, repaired. The problem was that an inferior steel was used in the swivel yoke and it was possible that it could distort and result in a "flyaway" boom. This was for the years around 1988. All readers should check on this by giving them a call. Then someone can post the info on this site.
