I love a four day weekend. Boat projects to get 'er done!

So...I have my new Johnson 9.9 XLS dialed in with the shaft zinc primed and ready for paint in the morning. I plan to finish paint and mount it this weekend.

Now, today I crawled down into the starboard cockpit lazerette to ispect the mysterious fresh water bladder holding "tank". Now...I am 6' and 210 lbs (maybe more after the Turkey dinner yesterday :)...and I had to do a bit of contortion to get down and at everything. It was very cool. Although I did get a darned cramp and in my mind envisioned how it would sound/look for a 57 year old dude yelling for help from these cramped quarters...hahaha.....now, I digress.

So, as it turns out, I think this is a really cool set-up and very efficient for the boat actually. I removed the bladder and hoses as well as my pitted, old galley hand pump.

A stop at the Marine Exchange for a few parts on the way home and I am fairly well good to go tomorrow. I proceeded home and cleaned/freshened the bladder with bleach and fresh water and a good scrub down. Affixed the new outlet hose and am ready for the re-install tomorrow.

Other projects tomorrow include:

*Install marine stereo (my electrician will be aboard with me)
*Install a new stern Nav Light (prior owner had a battery operated abortion strapped on to the stern rail) I bought the new light today...so easy to do it right!
*Clean up the 12 volt system and inspect all wiring.
*Install a 12volt receptical in the cockpit for my handheld units (GPS + VHF as needed)

I will be reporting back....

Working down in the lazerette. Now that brings back memories. Especially since we are about the same size although I am much older. Looks like 50+ and sunny on Monday so might do likewise, get a head start on spring.
