Looking to buy my first sailboat. Just found a 1983 Columbia 27 Widebody Crusing with 13 horse Westerbeke. 9 ft beam. Airex Double fiberglass hull. Dan Winter sails. Galley/V-birth/small head. Lot of Teak. Condition fair to good cosmetic. Good to better operational. Boat built by owner using all columbia parts and spec's after columbia went away. Asking around 6K. Any advice appreciated

If it's solid, the price is right. The 7.6 and 8.7 average substantially higher than that, and they date back to the mid seventies. thanks Mr Wilson. See that your in Richmond. The boat is located just off the James down in the Newport News area. All indications are that she's in good shape. Scheduled to take her out this week. Haven't done a survey yet but guess I need to. RK
