Hi all,

About a month ago I purchased my first boat a 1982 Hunter 33 Cherubini. Today I found a problem with the shower not emptying itself as water started pooling on the shower floor. The owner's manual shows a shower bilge pump around the bottom of the stairs but I haven't had time to actually locate it today.
Is it electric/manual? Any idea why the water would not evacuate? and where would it go?
Any help would e must appreciated.
Thanks !

I have a sneaking suspicion that you are the owner of my old boat.

To answer your question, the sump is activated manually. As you look at the mirror in the head, on the left side above the counter there is a silver pull knob. Pull that out and the sump pump should go on. As you are looking at the toilet, on the right side right at the deck there is a small hole that allows the water to enter the sump basin. Make sure it isn't plugged.
Hope this helps (and makes sense)
Dave

Hi Dave,
Awesome, I'll have a look tomorrow and I sure hope this used to be your old boat. The guy I bought it from wasn't much of a sailor and just used it as a " dock cottage"...
I'll confirm that but I am almost positive some of the decals "shadows" that were on the stern said Newcastle. The boat is cool, bringing it back to life !! Just came back from a cruising weekend with the family.
Keep in touch.

Also, on my 1980 H33 the sump is under the battery.

Pictures didn't load... I have a box of rubber gasket that was addressed to a Dave in Cameron, ON ;o)

Alright so I'm actually facing a bit of a bad situation right now. I pulled the toggle an nothing happens, no noise. I tried with AC power, DC power, nothing.
Based on what RoyS says, it appears that I will have to move my batteries to access it and check it out. By looking into the cabinet, I can see two wires leaving the toggle so it is electric. Any chance of buying a replacement if it is indeed fried?
Many thx again.

Ya sorry. Think I have set the pictures so only I can see them and don't know how to change that.
The shower sump is located under the battery compartment. Can't remember, is it possible there is a breaker on the panel marked sump or shower?
It is definitely my old boat cause I'm Dave from Cameron. ;)
Glad it is now owned by someone that is interested in looking after her.
