Does anyone have the factory recommended maintenance and specs for a 1980 Yanmar 2 GM 13 HP diesel? I would like to know what are the engine and transmission oil recommendations and capacities, and replacement filters. Is there an owner's manual online?

They will ship you all the information, service manuals repair manuals ect. that you can use. they are great manuals with a lot of things to troubleshoot any problems you may have. try the yanmar web site and look for mastry.

likely a 2QM15
With a 1980 model it is likely that you have a 2QM15 engine. There is a model information plate on the starboard side of the engine. I made the same mistake and purchased a GM manual. Not to much difference in the engines, but you might as well get the right information.

I think Paul is correct, unless you had a new one.
Robert: I think that Paul is correct, unless you boat has had a transplant a 2QM sounds more like it. You may be able to still get one of these manuals from Yanmar. Otherwise, there are some second party manuals that may even be better.

Actualy, sounds like a replacememt
In the early 80's there were two models the 2GM and the 2GMF they were 13hp. One fresh water cooled the other raw water cooled. In the Texas Costal are I'd recomend 30W oil. Use either of these brands. Chevron Delo 400 or Shell Rotella T. The engine will need 3 and the trans less than 1. filters are relativly inexpensive from a Yanmar dealer.
