There must be something to support the table when it folds out? What does it look like and is it possible to order or make a replacement?

If you posted a picture, we'd know far better what you were talking about. Only one or two people reading this may have a 1980 Hunter 30 but many more have Hunters of any year which may have a similar setups.

I have a '77 h30. The table setup should be the same. There is, or should be, a leg that drops down when you lower the table. If not, then it was removed (?). Should be easy enough to replace if missing.

The support leg was made of teak by Hunter's wood shop 43 years ago.
The newer Hunters used the pole method of support.
There may be one lying forgotten in a shed somewhere, but we'll never know.
So, Get a 5 foot long, cedar board approx. 5 in. wide and 1 in. thick.
Why Cedar? Much cheaper than teak!
Take the elevation measurement from the underside of the table to the cabin sole,
(with the table in the 'eating' position). Cut the board to that length.
Decide how much taper you want at the bottom of the board.
Cut down the board to match the taper.
Sand and varnish as desired.
Buy a stainless or brass piano hinge to fit the top edge of the board.
Mount the hinge to the top of the "new Leg".
Then mount assembly to underside of table where the old hinge mounted.
Eat Hearty!
Good luck.

Here are two photos of the table, including a close up of where the leg was supposed to attach.

Hunter changed the table in 1980. The one in the pic uses a pole.
Wasn’t sure when they made the change. My ‘82 H30 has this table design with the screw in support leg for the folded open leaf. Earlier models hinged down from the bulkhead and did not have the L-shape sitee.

Could you post a photo of the support leg in your boat?

John T,
And there's the problem. Your 1980 table set up is the same as my 1979.
Hunter must have changed the lay-out mid-year.
The OP's interior is the 'revised' version.
Hunter must have run out of our version's interior hull liner,
which changed the port settee to an "L" shape like the OP's.
