1980 Hunter 27

I have a 1980 H27. It does not look like the one I recently saw on line (earlier reply to dennis23685). Was there a model change midyear? My h27 is different. I like many of the differences (in both directions). Has anyone changed the old school nav station to the one on this link. I love the grab rail and the access to the quarter berth. I was going to to redo this area this year. My idea was to organize this space for storage. Now I'm thinking, that the access to the quarter berth would be nicer than more storage. What have you done?

Very different than my '80

I have a dorm fridge under the chart table. The table is actually has drop leaf so it's pretty big when up, but folds down and allows access the the quarter berth. The dogs sleep in the quarter berth so I usually leave it down, but you can see it in the up position in the attached picture. Your interior looks just like the interior of an '84 that's at my marina.

Mine has a hanging locker with a fold up nav table on top, similar to Mannys. I also note the engine must be farther aft than mine, as I step down a platform which is the top of the engine cover, then down two steps. I cant imagine how it could be though. Also mine made out of that teak paneling crap, like a lot of 70's boats.
If you can sit at that station and do some work, I like it.

I've been on a few H27s. Pretty sure that your "ladder" is not original.

I have a 1981 h27....the nav station and ladder/steps (mentioned in a later post) shown in the original pic look exactly like mine. It's a bit cumbersome getting to the engine as you need to lift the entire section of steps away but other than that is fine. I've mounted my inverter under the nav station but otherwise kept it clear so that I can sit there with charts, laptop, etc.
