1980 H37C head holding tank

Looking to add a waste holding tank.
Location? i was thinking under the v berth starboard side.
Function - Dual? discharge both at sea of at dockside pump out
Anyone have any experience doing this?

I put a 20 gallon tank on a shelf under the v berth with 2 outlets, one up to the deck, one down to the thru hull. NO Y VALVE. Wish I had put in a larger tank. Ronco has a double tapered 35 gallon tank that matches the hull shape nicely.

Did the same thing as Bill on my '79. 20 gal Ronco with preset 1 1/2" fittings. No Y valve. One out the top for pump out and one out the bottom to the macerator pump and thruhull. Fit nicely under the V-berth where the old canvas/rubber bag was. Presently piping with PVC to get rid of those old deteriorating, stinky, smelly, leaky dagnabit there it is again hoses. Didn't cost much either. Just say'in.

Under "Hunter Owner Modifications" there are two or more installs with pictures and text. My 22-gallon Ronco upgrade is there.

Used Mr. Ed's drawings and text in the modification section as a template for my revisions. Worked great.

Bill 1565 - will that 35 gal. tank fit through the entry door to the forward cabin? Do you know which Ronco number it is?

Sorry I lost track of this thread. I pad app found it and pestered me to reply. I have not bought or installed the 35 gallon tank. I think I said "wish". What I did for my 20 gallon tank was make up a PVC pipe framework and wiggle it in to place to decide how big to make the cutout on the v berth platform.

I put in a 28 gal? Anything bigger would not go through doors or hatch. Make up a cardboard box to check before you order.

Terry - any idea which model number? I could figure it out with measurements. 28 gal would be a vast improvement.

I just looked at pdf file might be b225 25 gal. I didn't have to cut the vberth opening to get the tank in so that may be the tank.

Man my memory sucks. At the boat measured the tank its the b281 tank 21 gallons. Must be the 25 wouldn't go without mods cutting. Lots of room in there I had thought about making one in place but time was getting short to launch. I have two kids so staying on the boat without a head wasn't going to happen.
