1980 H27 Mast Height

I thought I wrote this down after measuring it, but I can't find it and don't remember. Is it 43 ft from the water line? I'm going into Charlston SC in a few days and there is a 55 ft bridge. Thanks.

Do you have a sextant? Put yourself at eye level with the deck and shoot the arc to the mast head and measure your distance from the mast. The tangent of the angle times your distance to the mast step will give you the height above the deck. from there to the water is easy.

Pull a string up to the top of the mast, or use your halyard. Measure it. Add distance to waterline. Stir gently and simmer until done.

Beats ducking.

You will not have a problem with a 55' bridge.

I sailed my 1981 Hunter 27' up the ICW from Florida to Maryland two years ago and had no problems with the bridges.
