HUNTER CHERUBINI 36 GIMLI
I bought a "fixer" 2 years ago , finally put her in the lake yesterday but had trouble getting the mast up . The 3 spreader shrouds will not reach the turnbuckle. Looks like the spreader may have been bolted to the mast incorrectly, however before we lower the mast and switch the spreader I thought I would see if anyone can email me a picture from your manual with instructions .

Appreciate any info on how I might find /buy a manual as that would make this project so much easier as I have a ways to go before she is perfected.

Cheers
Robert

Hello Robert:

Bummer when something unexpected goes amiss.

Really there is no manual for this model that has the specific detail you are looking for. Even the first owner didn't get it. Here is a link so you can download the part of the owner's manual that has rig tuning instructions. (This manual was generic to all models of Cherubini Hunters.)

I have a 1980 Cherubini Hunter 36. I am not quite sure from your description I can visualize what isn't right. If you can explain some more, I will be at my boat tomorrow and can take pictures of the area(s) you need to see. Also on my boat is a hand written Hunter spec sheet with the diameters and lengths of all the running and standing rigging. I can photo this and post it tomorrow.

Meantime attached is a picture of my port side shrouds connected to the chainplate turnbuckles.

Robert:

Unfortunately, no manual exists that has the detail you seek. But here is a link to the Hunter download page of this site. Cherubini Hunter manuals #1 & #2 cover our 36's. Also on this same page you will see a download for the 36&37 drawings. This one is useful for diagrams of wire routing, plumbing, and general layout.

Otherwise, anytime you feel the need for another opinion or to find out if anyone has tackled a project or did a fix, then come back to this forum. You can try the search feature. And/or post the query.

Here is a closeup of the shroud to chainplate connection. Are you sure you have all of the pieces-parts? My spreaders will only go on one way. It is the bracket on the mast that dictates the slightly upward angle. Not sure I understand how it could be wrong and change the length of the wire.

Since you have been quiet since your first post and a few member responses, just checking before I use the 20-30 minutes it will take to download the several pictures I took today from my camera to my computer then to the forum respond page. Will they be helpful? Or maybe you got the mast up already?
