In process of corrosion control. Is there a way to remove (without breraking) that center plastic piece. Looks like a cover for access to the wire raceway

Need a better description of "center plastic piece". I own a 1979 H37C and there are no raceways for wires. Interior wiring for lights is overhead between the deck and the inner liner(the fiberglass "ceiling").

Do you mean the cover below the sail track in the mast??

Or the dash board forward of the companionway slider, or the overhead in the v-birth........Could be just about anything

Ah hah, Bill Dixon hit on it. Answer is no, you cannot get that cover off with the mast in the boat unless you break it. It is designed to slide out the bottom of the mast. The mast must be off the boat. There is hard plastic up to the gooseneck where the boom attaches. Above that and all the way to the top are two metal covers that slide out to give you total access to the wire channel.

I had to cut 5" off the butt of my mast due to corrosion. When I did that, the plastic cover was removable by hand. The sail track is a whole other story, but you can buy new.
