I recently bought a 1979 Hunter 27 Cherubini. I wanted to see if anyone knows how the inside of the boom is rigged? It has two blocks that was inside the boom and I believe one is for a dead head. It has a place for a out haul and the reefing and some other adjustments. Owen

Welcome aboard, Owen. That's a good question. I would also like to know how the inside of my boom is configured. I don't have trouble moving my outhaul aft but, it's a real pain to move it forward. I have to whack the part the clew clips on to with a mallet to get it to move even slightly. Can't figure out what is causing this. Any ideas out there? Thanks.

Look at these diagrams. Just imagine the reefing works are inside the boom:
One of them should be your in boom reefing system.

The out haul is as you suggest. Two pullys, one line, but one end goes to a cleat on the bottom of the boom after exit at the gooseneck and the other attaches to the mainsail after the exit at the rear of the boom.
Perhaps your line jams in the pully or one of the pully wheels broke free?
