1979 Columbia 28 Roller Furling

Can anyone recommend an fairly inexpensive jib roller furling system for a 1979 Columbia 28?

Check out CDI or Hood Systems. I had a Hood Seafurl on a 30 ft boat and it worked well.

Hood and the CDI systems are the price sensitive choices in the market. Alternatively you might try a salvage yard in a Hurricane zone. As boats are damaged occasionally a furler will be in serviceable condition. You may need to buy a section of the extruded furler but this can be a much less expensive approach than buying new. There are risks and the buyer needs to be wary of a deal too good to be true. Be sure to get all the parts to assemble the furler. If in question get the installation manual for the furler and compare the parts list to what you are buying.
