I replaced my standing rigging this winter. When I removed the Fore and Back Stays they were attached directly to the crane (I.E. no toggles between the wire rope eye and the crane pin). I looked this up and found a Catalina schematic that shows this to be correct. When I got the new rigging from Catalina Direct they included toggles for to Fore and Back Stays, (and they say they should be used). Unfortunately both Stays were sized according to there original setup and I have a roller furler which I don't think I can add the inch and a half toggle to without trimming foils. Can any C27 experts here clue me in on this discrepancy.
Thanks,
Joel H.

mine has a toggle with the furler and there doesn't seem to be any problem, there is plenty of room . Incidentally, I took out the split backstay and have a single stay attached to the center chain plate with a toggle . makes it much easier for fishing and using the transom ladder .

The problem I have is that adding the toggles is going to take all the adjustment out of the backstay turnbuckles, (i.e. they'll be at or near the maximum they can be tightened as they were sized to be at center range without the toggles).
On the furler, adjusting the pin to pin length to compensate for the 1-1/2 toggle will necessitate trimming the top foil because the eye is right there!

I think!
