1976 Vega for Sale

Sadly, I must add my name to the boat sellers list. I've developed a
balance/dizzy problem that, so far, the medical profession can't fix
or explain. The result is that I can't get in a boat of any kind,
let alone my Vega, without getting extremely ill. After trying for
about a year and a half to get this condition fixed, I've come to the
conclusion that it isn't going to go away anytime soon. I can't see
the use in continuing to pay slip/storage fees for a boat I can't
use. Since this list has been so helpful over the past couple of
years, I'm offering it here first before dumping it on a broker. So
here goes:

1976 Vega #2933. Motivated SellerNo reasonable offer refusedyada
yada yada. Full set of sails. MD6B in working condition. Gate
valves, below water line, replaced with ball valves about 3 years
ago. Combi was reconditioned about 1-2 years ago and the control
tube replaced. New Vetus Exhaust hose as of last year. No toilet.
The biggest job that needs to be done next is paint for deck and
topsides, which was the next item on my list to do. Previous owner
did lots of work on fixing up the interior. New padding on inside of
hullnew cushion coversetc. Email for more information and I'll
respond with phone number. The boat is currently on the hard for the
winter in Solomon's Island, Maryland, USA.

Chris,

I have a friend who had the same balance problem you're discribing
and the "medical establishment" said that he would just have to live
with it. Well, he went to a chiropactor and after a few visits he is
doing just great! No more problem! Just a thought!

Gianni,

Thanks for the sentiment. After coming to grips with the fact that boating
was going to be out of the picture for awhile (if not for good), the worst
part was not knowing what to do with my spare time. I've since, taken a few
classes at the local college and verified that my brain still works well
enough. Maybe I'll finally get around to working on that degree (beats
watching TV anyway).
