Just wondering what the inherent issues are with this vessel. We want something affordable to cruise S/W florida in and roomy but not too long to save money on repairs etc. Anyone have any experience with these and feel like sharing your thoughts? Thanks much in advance.

Bullet-Proof Morgan

Dear Folks, You happened on to a yacht that has one of the very best reputations; especially the Morgan 41. These have as good a rep as the Westsail for a cruising vessel, but be sure to get a SAMS surveyor to go over it throughly; don't 'fall in love' till after the survey...

Good solid boat

I've had my 1979 33 Out Island for since 2000. Sails well, handles rough weather, cockpit and cabin are roomy. We sailed North West Florida in 03 for almost a month and and had a great time. Had a great time in 04 till Ivan destroyed the Marina. We were one of 30 boats that was still afloat, out of over 200. The boat is heavy built. If you want a fast boat this isn't it, but in 10 to 15 knots of wind I can do 5 to 6 knots on a reach. You cann't sail close to the wind but I can get from point A to point B. BTW the 77-79 are a bit differnt then the 73-76. The hull comes all the way to the toe rail on deck. No rubber rub tail. /David
