1974 with diesel

Just wondering about buying a 1974 with 12hp yanmar diesel. Hull is woven/roven? Owner claims very tough. I want to cruise British Columbia coast up to Charlottes so I want a tough little boat. Is this a good hull that can take a pounding. Thanks.

Tough?

I have a C27 and love it but I wouldn't say it's exactly what you're looking for. It's actually a relatively lightly built boat for easy coastal cruising. That's not to say it would break up or anything but it ain't not PS Orion or Flicka. Of course those boats are true bluewater boats, very tough, very expensive. But I'm wondering something. If you are asking how tough a Catalina is, how experienced are you? Perhaps your definition of "tough"
