What type of material is in the core of the hull and deck on a Columbia 28 ft. mid 70's vintage?

Core Material

A combination of plywood squares and end gain balsa. Plywood in areas with little curvature, balsa in curved areas. Hulls usually are balsa cored.Paul (Captn Pauley) Esterle

I also have a 1974

The boat is great I have all mew equiptment on it. My problem is the leak which I think is in the rudder, will find out when i take it out.
