Since this is not a Hunter, I am assuming no one responded. I am not familiar but if water is coming in, obvious places to look is thru hulls below the water line, rudder attachment to hull below water line, any transducers below the water line, attachment of keel to the hull to include keel bolts and if swing keel then retaining bolt or bolts that hold the keel in place like the Catalina 22, transducers and so forth.

I have actually on occasion over the years flooded the hull with boat out of the water of course below storage and deck to see where the water is coming or dripping out. Another way with boat out of the water is to close off everything, tape windows and cover the companionway with plastic and put a slit in it. Then insert a leaf blower and tape it too and turn on. You are in effect pressuring the cabin and then brush everything below with real soapy water to see where air bubbles are coming out which will tell you leaks assuming the boat is out of the water of cours.

Again I do not know this boat and there is not enough description from you which to help with as you did not advise propulsion, type of keel and so forth which would have helped. If this does not help, tell your friend then to take the boat to a boat yard for help.
