1970 MacGregor? Is that possible.

Has anyone heard of a 1970 MacGregor 22. I was given a 22 ft. MacGregor and am working on getting it into the water. It's almost ready excpet for minor issues that keep popping up. I'm excited about getting into the water and doing some sailing. Anyone here from the Annapolis area. I just wanted to confirm that MacGregors were made in 1970, the earliest model I see on this site is 1972. Please e-mail at bomdre@hotmail.com. ThanksBrian

What you are looking at is most likely a Venture 22 made by MacGregor. I just saw a 1971 Venture 22 posted here.MikeP.S. Check back here for other responses.

Early Ventures.

To the best of my knowledge the Ventures came out in 1969. The first models were (I think) the 21-- the model which in the early '70s won the MacGregor TransPacific Challenge, the 4-1/2-berth 22, and the 17-- which I've seen a 1969 model of.If anyone knows differently, please let me know. I don't know what happened to my old boat-magazine archives!JC 2
