Just bought a 1960 Tylercraft T-24 on eBay sight unseen. Anyone here owns one, owned one or sailed one before?

Sorry I don't have specific info but that is a cool looking boat in unbelievable condition for its age.

Great looking boat! You may want to replace the VHF with something newer if you are going offshore.

Bad news, I am going to cancel the purchase. I spoke to the donor and he said the headroom is under 6ft and trailer does not have the 17 digit VIN plate. I already have a converted WWP 19 and the only reason I am buying another boat is the headroom for more comfortable on longer stays. My winning bid was $1525($2500 max), couldn't believe it. It will be going back on the market and anyone interested should keep an eye on eBay for this.

It looks like a twin keel boat. Those are slower but also great for gunkholling in areas of large tidal swings.

According to Wikipedia, the sailboat has 72" of headroom. According to PO, it is not. I love that it only draw 2 feet of water and the transom is very low for a sailboat. I can't count how many fish I lost due to the high transom on the WWP 19:( I had to tow a canoe on fishing trips. My plan was to learn to sail and then ditch the main sail and only use a furling Genoa and SailPro in Georgian Bay.
