I own and enjoy my 1969 Daysailer. How ever sailing alone is all I do. Getting the sails up after leaving Bass River, a lot of moorings etc. I have no problem. It is on return and lowering the sails that is a problem. I have made a down haul for the jib and that works great. The problem is when I lower, and have to pull the main down by hand, that the boom and sail of course fall in the water. I know that if I paid more attention to the point that I need to grab the boom to keep it in the boat I would solve the problem, but that seems like I am tooo busy getting the sail down. Any tips appreciated. My real question is- does the 192 Oday have a boom that is held up by a rear stay or something like the larger(20 and up) have??? If I change boats I do not want to go too much larger, but a boom that was rigged so would be great! My buddy wants me to go to a Cat Boat!! He has a Marshall 22. Don't need that size at 72!!!!!! Thanks anyone!!!!!!!!!!
