I just bought a 1981 19-1 in very good condition. First sailboat, I'm a rookie. I figure this boat is as good as any to learn on and hopefully not destroy in the process. Not much out there on the web other than on sailboat data.com. Anyone have any anecdotes about this model? The guys at Hunter said they lost all the info about it years ago, which i thought was funny. They did send me a pdf of an early 80's brochure. The mast base/hinge seems to be very light weight, that's my only real concern. Just have to be careful raising and lowering the mast I guess.
