I just bought what seems to be a nice little trailer sailor. She's an 18 ft Mirage built it 1982. I've been having difficulty finding information about this type of boat. Apparently the company that manufactured her, in Florida, now only makes sport fishing boats. If anyone know anything about these or if a web site exists please let me know. These aren't the same Mirages that are built in Canada. Would you like to see her? E-mail me and I'll send you a mugshot. Thanks, Bryan Morton AccdntlJibe@aol.com

Mirage, huh?

If it's what I'm thinking of, I almost bought one a few years back. It's a curvy little thing with a small cabin and tiny (or possibly no) windows. very nice boat. I think there are a few of them floating around up here, in fact if memory serves me correctly there are two at my marina in Sanford. I'll be heading that way on the weekend, so I'll check them for you. I know what you mean about rare Florida sailboats. I also own a Missile (Hull #39), a hard-chined, fiberglass planing dinghy built in 1959 in Clearwater. The mainsail still has the original wooden battens. Peter H23 "Raven"

One more thing, Bryan

Try the HOW Smaller Boats Forum. It's mostly Hunter owners but who knows, they may have seen a Mirage somewhere too. Hmmm, why didn't that sound quite right? ;-) Peter h23 "Raven"
