170 Jib

Our new to us H34 came with a 170 jib. I would like to get that up one of these weekends, as we seem to get a lot of 5-7 kt days on Lake Michigan. There is a rope in the luff like the other sails. I am wondering if this gets fed into the track on the furler or if this sail flies loose. I have tried to research without much luck, but most seemed to show this sail with a loose luff.

Does anyone have experience with this?

If it's a very light nylon type material like a spinnaker then it probably is a drifter. It is flown just like an asymmetrical spinnaker but is usually cut a little flatter for up wind.
