Would someone happen to know the dimensions of the aluminum tiller arm on the 146. I would like to make one instead of paying $160. I've searched around and I have not found any solid info. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!! Could not find the dimensions but I assume you have some options on material, rise or drop and length. Good luck with your project and show the forum a before and after photo.

I can measure my 146’s tiller arm tomorrow and let you know. But speaking of prices . . . my centerboard broke and they want $799 for a new one AND a 60 day delivery time !

thank you for the replies. I got a good deal on the boat because it was missing some items such as the tiller arm. Judging from pictures it looks like it’s just aluminum square tubing with two bends. I’m going to try and make one. 800 for a centerboard seems a bit much. But nothing in boating is cheap. Thanks for your help.

The OAL of the tiller is 45 “. Then there is a 33” extension handle that sits on top of it.

Sorry that I wasn’t more clear. The tiller arm isn’t straight vertically correct? It looks as if there is some rise from where it leaves the rudder to where it terminates.

Cool story, After i got the boat home after purchase i couldnt find the tiller. Ask the seller if it was laying around the garage somewhere. He couldn't find it so he shipped me a new one with the battlestick.

The rise of my H146 tiller is ~9”.
