Anyone out there using a 135 jib instead of the standard 110? Does it clear the spreaders ok? How much does it affect performance on various points of sail? I'm trying to improve my speed for club racing.

I believe Hunter does not recommend using anything other than the working jib that comes with the boat. If you did, you would have to move the jib sheet blocks to make it work. Most folks, including myself, have purchased some sort of spinnaker to use in light winds. A bigger jib is likely to overpower the 260 since most of the power is coming from the main on a B&B rig.

H260 Jib

I agree with Ron for the reasons stated. I have no problem attaining hull speed in all but very light winds. Because of the relatively large main, this boat gets overpowered fairly easily. Adding a larger jib on this boat would mean that you will just have to reef the headsail earlier - thus eliminating the advantage of more canvas upfront. Just my $.02 :)

I'm with George and Ron on this

A cruising spinnaker can be handy tho.
