Why not a 155?

I'll bet that's what me sailmaker (Doyle in Cleveland) would probably say. If you want to race, that's probably the way to go for light/medium air on a Cherubini design. For cruising on my '77 h27, though, he ended up recommending an asymetric chute - an there is no question this is a great cruising sail. David Ladie Lillie

Windy...

Kaneohe Bay....that is the windy side of Oahu, is it not? I wonder if you need to carry a big genoa at all.

Can be windy

Great sailing bay, lots of wind and reefs to dodge. I just want to go faster. Wind can be 20-25 knts but more likly is around 10-15. Dan

Light air sail for 1981H30

Hi Dan I bought a used roller luffed genoa for $100 and use it loose luffed for reaching and running in lighter winds. I have had it up in 15+ kts winds once while reaching and it moved the boat around 7+ knots, kind of a white knuckle experience. It is 3-4 oz dacron with a luff of 41.5 ft and foot of 21.5 ft giving it about 445 sqr ft of area. I have a 110 jib on a roller furling. This setup works very well for me in that I probably only use the genoa 20% of the time. It is easiest to put up and take down while running downwind and using the main as a blanket like a spinnaker.
