I have a '94 H26 and my sailmaker sent me a 130 furling jib instead of the 100% like I ordered. Before I send it back, has anyone installed a larger head sail on the H26 and besides putting new blocks outboard, what other consequences will I encounter?

135 a good sail on older sister

The 135 on our '77 h27 is a fine sail. Lots of power in light air, and reasonable to furl back to 100 percent. With two reefs in your main, you ought to be able to hanble reasonbly heavy air. On the other hand, we have a 3,500 pound keel, and I understand the 26 has the big B and R main - so you will want to hear from others with your hull, I expect. David Lady Lillie

The jib sheets and mast shrouds could make..

the front half of your boat a very busy place with the 135. Secondly, pegging out the ol speedo with just the standard sail set is very easy to do. A spinaker would be a much better tool. Let us know how this works out. Ray

Hey Ray!

What does "pegging out the old speedo" mean?

Mick, We've found that the H26 will push

very close to or at max hull speed with the standard sail plan. Never thought about the swim attire until just now. Probably to old to peg that. Ray
