Has anyone attempted to change out a relay inside of the Hunter / Ultra Marine 120-volt distribution panel. I am not sure as to when Hunter started to get their panels from Ultra Marine, and when they started to use relays. My boat is a 2005/2006 Hunter 45 CC. There are a total of 11 relays from 4 different manufacturesinside of the panel. I was able to track down and purchase most of the relays. Looks simple enough to change out, but would like to talk to someone who has done it. See Photo

Thanks,
Jeff

So why would you need to change out these relays? Your boat is not that old. Were you hit by lightening or something which damaged them?

I had the same issue with my 2006 45CC. I changed 2 of the relays but that still did not work. I ended up replacing all of the panels with the latest production from Ultra Panel and everything works fine.
However there is a posting on this site where a fellow put in a Blue Sea AC rotary swith to bypass the AC relays and it saved him from replacing the panels. Unfortunately I found this out after spending $2500 on new panel.

That was me

Percher,

At one time I was going to install a rotary switch, but after looking at the wiring diagram, it would not be all that simple. How long ago did you replace the panel, and did you just replace the 120-volt distribution panel, or the "Hunter 12-volt / 120-volt panel as well?? I am interested since the Ultra Panel is basically "plug and play" as all of the wires are bundeled, and seem to just plug into the Ultra Panel. When I contacted Ultra Panel, they said that they do not make the panel that I have in my boat anymore.

Thanks,
Jeff

Re: That was me

Jeff,
I had Tidewater Marine in Havre de Grace do the work last winter. They replaced all 3 panels. Everything looks the same as the old ones but now the genset works perfectly.

Percher,

I wish I could find a similar outfit to do the work for me out here.
