My HUNTER31 1986 has numerous 12 volt outlets and plates the same size as 110 outlet plates. I'm wondering where I can get more of these. All I see in the boat stores are those simple socket ones.
You might try the hunter customer support link on this home page. They have always been pretty helpful when I've asked them questions.Good luckChrisBlue Light Special
Alan; These outlets you are talking about are 110v outlets. There should be 5. I have a 1984 H31 and these are definately 110v outlets, not 12v. On your 110v control panel, turn on the switch for outlets and then get a Volt meter and double check your outlets to be sure that a previous owner hasn't changed them to 12v. This will prevent any problems from using the wrong voltage when plugging something in.Regards, Mac.
They are definitely 12v. plate says 12volt and they have round socket instead of the 110 socket. I've used my cell phone in one already. I have numerous 110 outlets in ivory. The 12volt is in brown. I plan on using them for TV, cell phone, Davis utility light etc. I will try to photo post them
Alan:I have a couple of the Marinco sockets aboard. They are "like" a cigarette lighter socket. If you have something that you do not want to disconnect (ie:GPS in cockpit) you can attach the male end which is a twist lock. I think that you need to drill a 1 inch or 1 1/8 inch hole and then screw a ring on the back. They also can be screwed in from the front with a couple of screws. I have one just above the liquor/glass closet on the chart table for our laptop. I have seen some very nice connectors that allow the female end to be attached through a small hole (about 1/2") and then you feed wires into the back of the unit and a couple of small screws hold it in place. The male part then screws onto the other end for a very small and compact fitting. I plan on installing some fans in the v-berth and aft berth on our H'31 using these connections.I will try to find my sample and post it for your review on the Photo Forum too. Depending on the application something that is semi permanent vs something that is moveable, you may want to use different fixtures. I'll be waiting to see what type you have.
