I have recently become an owner of a 12'ODAY and am new to all this an am wondering is there anyone who can tell me what I actually have and how to find an owners manual and find the year it was made off the serial numbers on the transom(XDYA48 I I M78K)and any other info that may be helpful.....thanks ya'll

You have a 1978 Widgeon that was built in June of that year. The XDY= O'Day, the A=Widgeon, 4811=serial numbers, and M 78 K =Model year month. I'm not sure about the month because O'Day had two code formats. So the K could stand for June or November. Check out the I Love O'Days web site for more info.

As Joe says you have a WIDGEON, and to clear up his question.. she was built in June of 1978. I used to have a 1969 Widgeon and they are GREAT BOATS!
