11/16" alternator belt vs. serpentine

I am in the process of ordering a new Cummins 4B3.3 to replace a Perkins 4-154. As an option, I am requesting Transatlantic diesel (TAD) to mount a Balmar 160 amp alternator. The plan is to use the belt-manager software (firmware) in the external regulator to reduce the output of the alternator from 160 amps max to 120 (or possible 140) amps (per the recommendations of MaineSail). (I plan to stick with flooded wet-cell batteries during the fore-seeable future—no lithium.) While talking with TAD I was surprised that they don’t offer a serpentine belt option (they didn’t even know if such a belt kit is even made for the 4B3.3). However, they said that they use a 11/16” belt and that it should be able to accommodate 120 or 140 amps. What do y’all think?

As a side, they said that all they use is the MC 614 external regulator. Is that the regulator that does NOT have a dedicated voltage sense wire?

Thanks all for putting up with my questions stemming from my repowering project.

pretty sure there are no belt engineers on line here. serpentine does in fact support about 300 amp (and no power steering, AC compressor, EPA air pumps, etc) alternators. Have no idea about an 11/16" wide belt. The engineer in me says 11/16" is less than 12/16"(3/4") and my 3/4" belt will only support about 50-60 amps continuous without dusting the engine compartment. Does not pass the giggle test to me.
but I'm not a belt engineer either so maybe the have steel belts and it is a radial ply.
Might want to research purchasing a new one before commitment.
