This lid has a piece of wood across the bottom as a stiffener. Mine has been missing since I bought it. Can someone measure theirs for me? Specifically, the thickness as the prior print is still there. Also, what wood was used? I need to get this stiffened up. Was thinking of using a piece of oak.....

I'm not sure I have such a thing. Is the wood on the horizontal or vertical part of the lid. I'll look closer tomorrow when it stops pouring.

It's on the vertical part behind the lock hasp. It keeps the lid from flexing and over closing...

Is it working well? I was thinking of just 5200 it in with some clamps
works great it is they way s2 did it when they made the boat mine is on the inside of the lid flange...the original one was rotted out on the lower edge from trapped water so i removed it and replaced it...i did clap it in place with the lid in the open position..i also used waxed paper on the exposed area between the clamps and the wood to keep down the mess till it set

We replaced ours exactly as the woodster did. Several years ago, still perfect. His dimensions are right on.
