Finally took possession of my "new" 11.0A. Looking for any suggestions for an auto bilge pump that pumps the deep well. Key word would be auto.....Currently has a belt driven pump under the deep locker forward of the stove with hoses and a ball valve that go as high as possible and then back down and then disappears somewhere. Have yet to find the thru hull but haven't spent a lot of time doing it. Don't know if this is OEM or not. The hoses are kinked etc and I need to fix this situation to satisfy the insurance co. Oh and there's that ball valve in line....Not sure that's necessary.Tnx Mark

I have been looking for the best solution to this for awhile, to no avail. I have an electric which turns on at the nave station. Mounted in the engine compartment with the hose running into the deep bilge. In the past, I've tried mounting an all in one unit on an aluminum bar which hangs down into the deep bilge, and wiring directly the battery, but they seem to last only about one season. I think the wiring connections get damp or something, despite shrink wrapping the connections. We have an AC unit which we drain into the bilge. This year I plan to put one of the all in one units in the shallow bilge, for emergency purposes only. We get to the boat nearly every day, so it hasn't been a huge issue so far, but I'd like to hear some alternatives for the fully automatic pump for the deep bilge, keeping in mind we have a damp bilge nearly all the time in the summer.

I have the 9.2C with a pump that looks like this mounted with a 4 foot hose down to a bronze strainer that sits on the bottom of the bilge. I have a float switch mounted on an aluminum bar to activate it. Might not be the best but that"s what my boat has. I got rid of the cheap corrugated white tubing and plumbed with braided smooth hose for better flow and there are no shutoff valves. My ac is mounted high and tees into the head sink hose. The bilge is dry but for a bit of shaft packing drippings.

update: the ball valve is at the thru hull at the waterline after snipping all the ties and seeing what's there. Gotta change that at next haulout as there's a lot plastic there. I found a piece of sailtrack bent in two ninety degree bends that puts a float switch in the deep bilge to turn on the bilge pump in the deep locker. Installation was kinda flakey but I think I'll stick with it and improve on it. I'll need to screw the sailtrack into the bottom of the shallow bilge. Anybody know if I can penetrate the shallow bilge with a 1/2 screw without making a water path to ballast?

Epoxy a piece of laminated wood down there and screw into that. You could even put a layer of glass over the wood if you would like...

Hey Mark, I installed an automatic bilge ppump on my 11.0A earlier this year. My boat originally had one of the old style belt driven pumps. One hose led to the bilge and the exit hose was routed out to the stern of the boat

Hey Jeff I think you tried to send me an e-mail earlier ref the bilge pump, sorry I lost it. I installed an automatic pump on my boat earlier this year. The old pump had one hose going down into the bilge and the other hose led out to a thru hull on the stern of the boat. The new pump only needed the one hose for the discharge end so I used the same thru hull as the old pump, just replaced the hose when I installed the new pump
