I'm looking at a 10.3 to purchase that seems to have some problems with the mast step and stringers that support it. The SS plates on the deck that surround the mast are also sitting a little wonky. I suspect the mast has dropped a bit and deformed the cabin top in that area. Anyone out there with any experience in this area?

Some experience in that I had a Mark 25 (C&C 25) on which the mast support was collapsing. That is probably the #1 area of the deck that you do not want trouble with. Unless you are very skilled at boat repair and the boat is very cheap, move on.
