I posted a question last week involving my H31 not starting. I thought is was the starter or possible solonoid..wrong! My batteries died. What threw me off was that they both registered a 13 volt charge when I tested them with meter. Problem as some of you seadogs know, there was no AMPERAGE behind the volts, hence I got the click click at start time. Of particular note is the gel batteries were 13 years old! I think this is amazing. I purschased two replacement batteries and the boat starts better than ever. Thankyou for your input. Mike

you got screwed....

Mike: You got screwed, only 13 years on your batteries. Maybe you should check on the warranty. I bet you did NOT purchase them from Sams Club!

wow

I'd like to know where those batteries were purchased! On a side note though, if you had someone start the motor while you were looking at the meter, you would have seen the voltage drop below 9volts, hence bad batteries or better yet, a bad cell(which still means a bad battery). They shouldn't drop below 11 when starting. PS. What was the brand name of them 13 year old batteries?
