h340 freezer

hello! i replaced the original springlift sl2-40-1 (40lbs) in the freezer of my h340 with a new european modell (180 newton). now always the freezer open itself. i found no catch on the freezer cover. is this original so or need i a catch (found drilled holes on the cover in the front side)...
