Once one gains experience with fiberglass, that type of repair is simple and quick. Making a repair mold is one of my favorite techniques, and I've never understood why so many don't use this method.

There must have been more damage than obvious in that video to need to cut out such a large section. The original damage didn't look that bad to me.

Gotta love fiberglass - but you can do very similar type repairs in steel and aluminum....

In fact, more easily. Fix it before lunch and paint it after lunch. Of course, a steel bow probably wouldn't even dent, and if it did dent, no hole. ;)

There are other things to like about composites. Ease of repair and impact resistance aren't among them.
