Removal of sheave from this turning block in a 1984 H31

I am attempting to replace the sheave in this jib sheet turning block on our 1984 H31. I have removed the four screws but this block is not budging.

Any thoughts on how to remove it, or is there another way to replace the UV damaged sheaves without having to remove the entire assembly? I don't see a way of removing the center pin from the top of the block. I am assuming the removal is done from the bottom side.

Yes. I did that on mine. Take the cheek block off. It's no doubt glued on with sealant. A putty knife will persuade it off. That pin you see has been peened over on both sides. Use a 1/4" drill to begin drilling the head off. Once that is gone you will see the actual pin is a smaller diameter. You can just knock it out with a pin punch. After you locate a replacement sheave (I got mine a a local chandelry) select a clevis pin that fits the hole size. You can just put it in from the bottom side. It won't fall out after remounting the cheek block. Much easier to do next time. I may have needed an extra bushing to fit the hole in the replacement sheave that had the correct internal diameter hole for the pin.

I used an end mill in a drill press to remove the head off of the pin & used a bench vise, punch, & hammer to knock the pin out of the housing. Sort of difficult (not being a machinist) to size the new sheave to a new pin, especially if you need bushings. Easy method is to send the old block to Zephyr Works & let them rebuild the block for you. Good luck.
