We have a 1997 P42 and season 30 is coming up. Certain parts of the Hunter Green main cabin leather are showing lots of wear and I would like to replace just those cushions‘ covering. Does anyone know what the source for the leather interior was back in the late 1990s? A 2007 photo of the interior is attached. Thanks.

There should be tags inside the covers if they are original, that would indicate the manufacturer and pattern number. Most likely if the covers are worn out, the cushions are well overdue for replacement as well....

That being said, any decent upholstery shop should be able to use your existing covers as patterns to make new ones, in the materials of your choice. The chances of the original cover manufacturer still having the pattern is pretty slim.

Try calling Customer Service here at SBO. They may know who made the original cushions. If they are still in business and made a lot of cushions for the 42, they may have the original patterns.

FWIW, I had my leather seating cushions replaced by an auto upholstery jobber who made a perfect match.

I would bet a buck on the leather cushion makers for boats learned their skills in the automotive industry.

That is fair, @fred1diver

The ones I have met did have automotive experience or doubled their marketing to both marine and auto enthusiasts.
